Millions of people play golf on a regular basis. Out of the vast number of avid golfers in the world, there are actually only a handful of really extraordinarily gifted golfers, most of whom are professionals. The rest of the golfing population either play in amateur tournaments, or they just like to use golf as a social activity.
Recreational golfers are not that competitive. They just like to golf for fun. But even these people who golf for leisure still would like to impress their peers with their game.
