Ensure that the back of the foot in front is lined up with your ball when you do a drive shot. By contrast, when hitting from the fairway or the rough, the ball should be about midway between your two feet. The only exception to this stance is when the ball is on a slope.
When buying a golf club, you should get one that is custom-fitted for you. Every golfer is proportioned differently, so a club that hits like a champ for golfer A, may leave golfer B hitting into the rough. Having a club that has synergy with your body shows in your improved swing.
Always thoroughly inspect the club head before purchasing any used golf club. Clubs which have been used profusely usually have a worn, shiny spot. This is undesirable since the club will not be able to cradle the ball as effectively.
Refrain from using a unnatural stance. Practice concentrating on the ball without using a club. Assume a posture where you are bent a little forward at waist and knees. See if your arms are in a good position to swing the club. Clap your hands together and hold them.
