Super Tips To Increase Your Golfing Game

June 29, 2018 by Jason Lyons

There are a few sports out there that combine activity and relaxation, quite nicely. Golf combines a slow, leisurely pace with the intensity of a competitive sport. If you take up golf with a poor approach, however, you run the risk of giving yourself a major headache. Brush up your game with the following golf tips and you can put some flair back into your game.

TIP! When you are golfing, consider ditching the golf cart and walking. This turns your golf outing into an exercise outing, as well, which will do wonders for your health if you golf every week.

To get a better workout and save money, walk the golf course, instead of using a golf cart. This gives you a bit of exercise where you can enjoy the sun and fresh air, improving your fitness while you have a bit of fun! Walking also prevents your muscles from getting cold, which can mess up your shots.

TIP! You’ll find that your whole body becomes completely engaged when playing golf. Your entire body–not just the arms–should be viewed as a major source of power.

Having a fit body is key to playing a great game of golf. You don’t just use your arms, you have to channel energy from your whole body for a source of true power. When you swing the club, your body should always stay 100 percent behind your swing. The added power will propel the golf ball further and lessen the strain on your arms.

TIP! Try wiggling your toes to double-check your golfing posture. Your feet should have restricted movement to ensure you are leaning properly.

Use your body for more power behind your swing. Novice golfers think the power comes from the arms, but only using the arms can make weak and awkward swings. You get better results when your body is in sync with your arms and hands.

TIP! Above all, remember not to take your golf game too seriously. Mistakes will happen and you should laugh at them to remain calm.

An easy exercise, a “toe-wiggling” exercise, can show golf stance faults. If it is difficult to wiggle your toes when preparing to swing your club, this indicates you are leaning too far towards the ball. In order to gain a good posture, golfers can use their feet to judge and lean back.

TIP! Always stretch your muscles before and after your golf game, and always stay hydrated. As with any sport, better physical conditioning can lead to better performance.

Sweet Spot

TIP! Hold your golf clubs with neutral grips. If you hold your golf club too tight, your shots will have a tendency to veer off to the right.

Each golf club comes with a place that is considered the “sweet spot”. This is a point on the club where a strike will have a perfectly accurate swing. Clubs are each individuals, and the “sweet spot” varies from club to club. You must practice with your set, and find the “sweet spot” for each club to improve the accuracy of your game.

TIP! Line up both feet correctly before every shot. This is important if you wish to have a better golf swing.

So make sure you are properly hydrated, and before you tee off, make sure you properly warm up. Taking care of your body can add to your golfing success.

TIP! Be certain you are standing correctly to get the right golf swing. Your stance is often what determines the distance of your shot.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to know how to keep score. This is vital for the reason that your score is considered to be representative of your skill as a golfer. Each time the ball is hit, it is counted as one stroke. The number of strokes you take to land the ball into a targeted hole will determine your score for that hole. The less strokes it takes to get the ball in the hole, the better your score.

TIP! Always stand about three to five feet behind the golf ball and look ahead to where you need to send it. Keep in mind the wind and any other weather conditions that might affect your stroke.

As you force each drive, the heel of your forward foot should be aligned with the ball. The starting, prime location of the ball, for all other swings, is centered between your feet. The only exception to this is when your ball lies on a slope.

TIP! Shots that are too far right are generally caused by moving to the left when you swing. As you take your downswing, release your hands to the ball a little faster.

After reading this article, you should have a better idea of what you need to work on. The point is that certain skills are required to play golf properly, including a perfect swing and the ability to focus on the task at hand. Use this advice to improve your golf skills.

TIP! Make sure you stay loose for your swing. Many golfers make this mistake and doing so will negatively affect your game.
